Ukraine Destroys Second Bridge in Russia's Kursk, Repels Nighttime Drone Attacks

In a significant escalation of the ongoing conflict, Ukrainian forces have reportedly destroyed a second bridge over the Seym River in Russia’s Kursk region. This marks the second major infrastructure attack in the area this week, following the destruction of a previous bridge.

Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of Ukraine’s Air Force, confirmed the attack on social media, stating, “Minus one more bridge! The aviation of the air force continues to deprive the enemy of its logistical capabilities with accurate air strikes, which significantly affects the course of hostilities.” The destruction of these bridges is believed to hamper Russian supply lines and operational mobility in the region.

This latest assault follows Russia's retaliatory strike on Kyiv, which marked the third ballistic missile attack on the Ukrainian capital this month. Preliminary reports indicate that all incoming missiles were intercepted and destroyed by Ukraine’s air defenses before reaching their target.

Western military analysts have highlighted that the Kursk region's key bridges are crucial for Russian logistical support. With two out of three major bridges now either destroyed or heavily damaged, Ukraine's strikes are poised to significantly disrupt Russian supply chains in the area.

In addition to the bridge attacks, Ukraine’s air defense units have successfully thwarted a nighttime barrage of Russian drone strikes. A total of 11 drones were launched across several Ukrainian regions, including Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Donetsk. Ukrainian forces managed to down all the drones, preventing any potential damage or casualties.

The dual developments underscore the intensifying nature of the conflict and the strategic significance of infrastructure and aerial defense in the ongoing hostilities.
